Honk (If You're Tonky)

Within the first three seconds of Joshua Scott Jones' latest single, "Honk (If You're Tonky)," there is an instantaneous and commemorative 12-bar blues rhythm. It explodes with a foot-tapping, guitar-slapping worthy introduction, with a deep south, dig in your roots kind of texture. The music effortlessly spins into a classic rock and southern soul mixture that makes the listener want to curl their lip and nod their head. Jones maintains an ideal old rock vibe with much needed current country appeal, alongside a gritty blues sound tying everything together in a generational-honoring party anthem.

Instantly, when listening to this song for the first time, three iconic musicians from the past were completely  evident in Jones' appeal through voice, looks, and moves. Jones' country twang and rock & roll spunk screams Jerry Lee Lewis. His dancing and outward appeal subtly mimics Elvis and greatly exudes Bruce Springsteen. The appeal of traditional and contemporary vibes does Jones well with his first single as a solo artist.
