Fresh Powder

As midnight was approaching on December 31, 2014, snow began to lightly kiss the city of Tucson, Arizona. Appropriately, like a new year symbolizes a fresh start, there was a fresh, perfectly powdered ground to wake up to on January 1, 2015. With the closing dusk and beginning dawn, a new year began, effortlessly.

Despite the overuse of resolutions and new challenges or goals that present themselves in the coming of the New Year, it is still underrated. The value of resolutions and self challenges have become such a recurring thing that their appeal is now a cliche when their value should still be as uplifting and motivating as they are any other day of the year. Yes, anyone can come up with resolutions throughout the year, it is not limited to January 1 as the starting point, but the idea of starting something to benefit and challenge yourself at the beginning of a new year does capture a very powerful and compelling tie to the very resolution itself and is never a negative thing.

Don't be afraid to attack your New Year's Resolution this year. At least you started. That is often the hardest part. Maybe it's the motivation of my own resolution talking, but go for it.
